The Foundation is dedicated to addressing the long-term well-being of children, youth, and their communities through support in Education, Human Services, and Health. It aims to provide disadvantaged children, youth, and their families with the necessary tools to build a life of quality, focusing on proven and innovative programs that facilitate systemic change.
The grant program by the Crail-Johnson Foundation supports non-profit organizations providing services and programs specifically in Los Angeles County Service Planning Areas (SPA) 4, 6, 7, and 8, with priority given to communities such as San Pedro, Wilmington, Compton, Watts, Carson, Long Beach, and South Los Angeles. Funding targets organizations that contribute to the long-term well-being of children, youth, and their families mainly through education, human services, and health sectors. The foundation supports a variety of initiatives, including but not limited to child abuse and domestic violence prevention and treatment, food security through banks, pantries and distribution services, homeless services encompassing temporary to long-term housing and related support services, and youth development/enrichment programs. The foundation emphasizes the creation, continuation, or expansion of programs aimed at addressing the needs of disadvantaged children and youth, promoting systemic change for a life of quality, without providing support for university-level education, research, political causes or legislation influence, event recognitions, or direct grants to individuals.
