The Roy and Ida Eagle Foundation aims to strengthen community by focusing on the family as the fundamental unit of society. It supports initiatives that promote virtues of character and civility, develop life skills and citizenship, and tackle problems weakening society. Through funding charitable and governmental organizations, it seeks to strengthen families, improve their living environments, and ensure care and protection for domestic animals and indigenous wildlife. The foundation values education, emergency support, character development, medical assistance for the under-resourced, and animal protection.
The Roy and Ida Eagle Foundation is directing its resources towards combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially within the Santa Barbara County. In these unprecedented times, the foundation is committed to supporting frontline organizations that are battling to suppress and defeat the pandemic's impacts. Current grant applications are invitation-only, but organizations aligned with the foundation's COVID-19 related efforts are encouraged to submit a Letter of Inquiry. Historically, the foundation has supported a wide range of non-profits in Health and Human Services, Education, Wildlife, and Domestic Animals, focusing mainly on Northern Santa Barbara County. Specific areas of charitable focus include educational opportunities, support for abused women and children, violence prevention, healthcare services, critical needs, and animal protection and welfare.
