Hind Foundation Standard Grant

The mission of the funder is to conserve and restore ecosystems, ensuring plant and wildlife can sustain and thrive; preserve historical landmarks to connect the past with the present and future; support music and visual arts for expression and cultural awareness; protect and conserve plants and wildlife, especially endangered species; and conserve land for future generations to enjoy. They achieve this by funding projects and programs in these specific areas, working with community-based organizations that share their goals.

Overview

The Standard Grant program aims to support projects and programs that have a significant impact on communities throughout California. Since its inception in 2006, it has facilitated the construction of music facilities, restoration of historical buildings, preservation and acquisition of open spaces, protection of endangered species, and support for a wide range of other initiatives. The program focuses on several key areas: Ecosystem Conservation, emphasizing habitat enhancement for plants and wildlife; Historical Landmark Restoration, targeting projects that preserve or acquire sites of historical significance; Music & Visual Arts, promoting access to training and resources for artists; Plant & Wildlife Protection, supporting the conservation of endangered and threatened species; and Land Conservation, aimed at protecting land with significant scenic, agricultural, or cultural values.

  • Has not received a Hind Foundation Standard Grant in the past two years nor applied in the past year
  • Project or program is based in California
  • Project will provide a lasting benefit to its community
  • Project falls within the Hind Foundation’s Areas of Funding
  • Organization has raised a substantial amount of the funds needed to complete the project
  • The grant, along with existing or pending support, will be enough to meet project goals

Organizations that have received a Hind Foundation Standard Grant within the past two years
Organizations that have applied for a Hind Foundation Standard Grant within the past year
Organizations seeking funding for educational programs, capital campaigns, debt reduction, basic research, books, videos, mobile apps, and television or film projects
Organizations seeking sustaining funds, multi-year grants, or funding for administrative costs or soft costs
Organizations seeking a grant for an individual, endowment, fellowship, national organization, community foundation, private foundation, nationally-based organization, nonprofit or booster club for public schools, or organizations based outside the United States
Advocacy organizations that engage in lawsuits, protests, or other forms of dissent
Organizations primarily supported by endowment funds or by government grants
Organizations seeking funds for improvements, construction, or restoration on privately held land
Organizations seeking funds for transportation costs
Requests not eligible under the Areas of Funding and Types of Funding.
