The mission of CDFW is to manage California’s diverse fish, wildlife, and plant resources, and the habitats upon which they depend, for their ecological values and for their use and enjoyment by the public.
CDFW reviews concept proposals for restoration grants on an ongoing basis, inviting eligible applicants to submit full proposals for projects related to Drought, Climate, and Nature Based Solutions. These grants aim to support projects that provide one or more of the following benefits: protecting or enhancing biodiversity; increasing climate change resiliency and connectivity; supporting State Wildlife Action Plan priority habitats; conserving or enhancing working landscapes; conserving or enhancing water-related projects; and enhancing public access. These efforts are part of CDFW's broader goals to ensure the preservation, restoration, and enhancement of California's fish and wildlife and their habitats.
