The Hudson-Webber Foundation grant program focuses on empowering Detroit through targeted investments in four primary areas:

  1. Arts & Culture: Enhancing access to art and cultural experiences, supporting the capacity of arts organizations, and promoting diversity in the cultural sector to boost community health and vitality.
  2. Built Environment: Investing in the enhancement of Detroit’s physical spaces to reflect diversity, inclusivity, and connectedness, and supporting projects and practitioners that improve the quality and stewardship of these spaces.
  3. Community & Economic Development: Supporting initiatives that link economic growth with strategies to connect people and communities to opportunities, aiming for high-quality jobs, strong neighborhoods, and racial and economic diversity.
  4. Safe & Just Communities: Focusing on reducing crime and victimization through innovative, racially equitable strategies, and improving relations between residents and law enforcement for co-produced public safety.

The foundation seeks to make a lasting impact on Detroit's recovery and growth, with a history of awarding over $200 million in grants to local nonprofit initiatives that align with its mission areas.
