The International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG) aims to promote international cooperation in the application and use of mathematics in geological research and technology. Mathematical Geosciences, the official journal of IAMG, focuses on the publication of high-quality interdisciplinary papers in geomathematics, pertaining to quantitative methods and studies of the Earth, its natural resources, and the environment. It serves as an essential reference for researchers and practitioners in geomathematics, developing and applying quantitative models to earth science and geo-engineering problems.
The Mathematical Geosciences Student Awards aim to support up to three early career scientists annually, encompassing postgraduate students (Masters or Doctoral candidates) and Post-Doctoral researchers, who are working within the scope of geomathematics. With a total annual budget of US$7,500, these awards encourage research in mathematical methods applied to the geosciences. Specifically, supported research projects must align with the Aims & Scope of the Mathematical Geosciences journal. Through these awards, the initiative seeks to foster the development of graduate students and post-doctoral researchers engaged in applying quantitative methods to tackle earth science and geo-engineering challenges.
