The Longview Foundation for World Affairs and International Understanding focuses on educating the youth of the United States about world regions and global issues. Since 1966, it has promoted initiatives that expand knowledge and understanding of international affairs among young Americans.
The Longview Foundation grants support one-year projects aiming to enhance global dimensions within K-12 education across the U.S. The foundation looks for proposals that either make a significant contribution to the field of global education or impact a large number of students. Priority is given to projects focused on professional development for teachers and on providing robust online global content, particularly in response to adjustments necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, its Innovations in International Education program funds strategic activities filling knowledge or capacity gaps in the sector with sustainable, broad-impact projects. This includes integrating international knowledge and skills into virtual learning, career pathways and technical education, incorporating international children's literature into literacy initiatives, and employing Artificial Intelligence to globalize classroom experiences. Grant amounts range from $15,000 to $25,000.
