AmeriCorps improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering, aiming to tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges. It strives to make service a cornerstone of the national culture and enhances community improvement through organizations.
AmeriCorps grants support organizations engaging AmeriCorps members in interventions to strengthen communities, focusing on those serving marginalized or underserved groups. Priorities include serving communities with significant poverty, supporting evidence-based interventions, aiding veterans and military families, engaging with faith-based organizations, enriching AmeriCorps member benefits and workforce pathways, environmental stewardship, second-chance youth programs, civic bridgebuilding, and improving early learning access. Additional priorities include focusing on underserved geographic areas, academic improvement, environmental stewardship, racial justice, and programs serving or recruiting people with disabilities and incarcerated individuals.
