Type of Support

Overview

The Education Mini-Grant program is designed to support conservation districts in carrying out conservation and natural resource education projects that are smaller in scope and may not be part of their annual work plan. These grants aim to address specific audiences and/or topics, making it possible to focus on unique educational needs and opportunities within communities. Eligible projects under this program include organizing and attending workshops, school field trips, adult or youth programs, promoting educational opportunities, developing community resources, and working with schools or groups to enhance natural resource education.

  • Must be approved and sponsored by the conservation district (CD)
  • Eligible expenses include CD employee salary related to the project, travel expenses, advertising, resource materials, scholarships towards camps, speaker fees, or transportation costs for field trips

Ineligibility

Eligible expenses do not include: equipment for schools such as cameras, computers, microscopes, I-Pads

Pencils
Administrative costs to prepare the mini-education grant application.
