Type of Support

Overview

The NASS Research Grant aims to fund high-quality research providing rigorously collected evidence crucial for preliminary data to support future grant applications or to conclusively answer research questions within the spine research field. The grant supports three types of research:

  1. Basic Research: Projects that explore fundamental questions about the mechanisms of diseases or develop novel models for prevention/treatment using lab sciences, animal models, or cell/tissue culture.
  2. Clinical Research: Studies involving human subjects or human-origin materials focusing on disease evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes, including epidemiological, behavioral studies, and health services research.
  3. Translational Research: Focuses on applying laboratory discoveries to human trials or enhancing the adoption of best practices, including cost-effective studies.

The funding amounts range from $20,000 to $40,000 per year, with possibilities up to $50,000 per year in exceptional cases, relying on the merit of applications and available funding.
