NCGSK Foundation: Ribbon of Hope Grant

From North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation

The North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of North Carolina’s residents by supporting innovative programs in science, health, and education. As an independent self-funding nonprofit, it aims to meet the educational and health needs of current and future generations. Since its establishment in 1986, it has focused on advancing these areas within the state, inspired by the vision of its founder, Joseph J. Ruvane, Jr., and governed by a mix of community leaders and corporate executives.

Type of Support

Overview

The Ribbon of Hope grants by the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation are designed to empower nonprofit organizations with one-time grants of $25,000. These grants support projects that further science, health, and education within local communities. Aimed at either developing a new initiative or enhancing an existing program, these grants do not support core mission fundings, general operating costs, construction, medical services, or equipment purchases. Instead, they are meant to provide organizations the ability to address critical community needs identified through comprehensive assessments, align with local agencies' goals and objectives, and demonstrate sustainability post-funding. Recipients also gain the benefit of customized consulting services and technical assistance from the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits.
