Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s Donor Circle for the Arts aims to support emerging artists working with underserved populations and to expand arts opportunities for the diverse cultural communities in the Silicon Valley region. Since 2008, they have granted over $752,500 to emerging arts organizations within this mission.

Overview

The Capacity-Building & Leadership Investment Grant from SVCF focuses on empowering leaders from communities of color and their nonprofit organizations. It provides grants to improve competencies, business processes, effectiveness, and sustainability with a keen focus on advancing racial equity and achieving improved outcomes for communities served. Grants are flexible, general operating support provided year-round, with plans for future customized trainings and workshops to enhance knowledge, connections, and community impact. Select organizations and their executive directors will also receive intensive learning opportunities and leadership investment to refine their strategies and visions.

  • Organizations with religious affiliations eligible if the project serves the wider community without regard to religious beliefs

Organizations needing funds for budget shortfalls or fundraising events
Groups with previously planned or long-term campaigns
Entities with funding gaps due to organizational emergencies, like office vandalism, resignation of an executive director, or sudden loss of funding
