We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.

Type of Support

Overview

The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) aims to reconcile agricultural production and forest management with environmental quality, maximizing environmental benefits while assisting farmers and ranchers in complying with environmental regulations. It is a voluntary program that offers financial and technical support for conservation practices, open to those actively involved in agriculture or non-industrial private forestry, based on a conservation plan. The California Air Quality Chipping EQIP Initiative, part of this program, specifically supports agricultural producers in certain San Joaquin Valley Air Basin counties. This initiative helps manage woody debris from orchards or vineyards impacted by extreme drought, contributing to the protection of air quality by providing an alternative to burning the debris.
