Type of Support

Overview

The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is dedicated to supporting agricultural operations in enhancing their existing conservation efforts in a sustainable way. It focuses on improving grazing conditions, increasing crop resiliency, and developing wildlife habitats by offering technical and financial assistance. The program encourages the implementation of conservation practices that benefit water and air quality, soil health, and wildlife habitats while also improving agricultural operations. CSP offers annual payments for these practices and additional incentives for adopting bundled enhancements. The program is designed for working lands and represents a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, offering five-year contracts with the possibility of renewal for successful participants. Key benefits of enrollment include enhanced resilience to weather and market changes, reduced need for agricultural inputs, and improved conditions for wildlife habitat.
