Type of Support

Overview

The Louisiana Healthy Forest Reserve Program (HFRP) is designed to assist landowners in restoring, enhancing, and protecting forestland resources on private and tribal lands through easements and financial assistance. The program focuses on the recovery of endangered or threatened species, improvement of plant and animal biodiversity, and enhancement of carbon sequestration. By participating in HFRP, landowners can contribute to the economy, biodiversity, and environmental quality while receiving financial assistance for easement payments and costs-share for conservation actions. The program offers various enrollment options, including 10-year cost-share agreements, 30-year easements, and permanent easements, each with different levels of financial assistance.
