We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) grant program supports agricultural producers in managing financial risk through various efforts such as diversification, marketing, or the implementation of natural resource conservation practices. Administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), alongside the Agricultural Marketing Service and Risk Management Agency for diversification and marketing, the program allows for the construction or improvement of water management and irrigation structures, planting trees for windbreaks or water quality improvement, and adopting practices that mitigate risk through production diversification or resource conservation. This includes soil erosion control, integrated pest management, or transitioning to organic farming. The AMA program provides financial assistance covering up to 75% of the cost of installing conservation practices, with total payments not exceeding $50,000 per participant per fiscal year. It also offers a higher cost-share percentage for historically underserved producers while participants are subject to certain provisions of the Food Security Act of 1985.
