We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) offers both financial and technical support to agricultural and forestry producers to aid in addressing natural resource concerns while delivering environmental benefits. The program seeks to empower producers and forest managers with the necessary resources to plan and implement conservation practices aimed at enhancing water and air quality, soil health, wildlife habitat, and agricultural operations. EQIP backs the voluntary implementation of these practices, with a focus on co-investment from NRCS. Key benefits include the reduction of contamination from agricultural sources, more efficient nutrient use, improved soil health with increased resilience to weather volatility, and support for various national priorities like nonpoint source pollution reduction, water conservation, air quality improvement, soil erosion control, wildlife habitat conservation, energy conservation, and biological carbon storage. State-specific priorities also tailor the program's efforts to address local environmental concerns.
