We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) grant program is designed to support agricultural producers in managing financial risk through a variety of strategies including diversification, marketing, and natural resource conservation practices. Administered by the NRCS, with complementary provisions implemented by the Agricultural Marketing Service and Risk Management Agency, AMA focuses on helping producers enhance water management, improve irrigation, establish windbreaks, improve water quality, control soil erosion, manage pests, and transition to organic farming. Financial assistance covers up to 75% of the cost of installing conservation practices, with a maximum payment of $50,000 per participant per fiscal year. While participants are exempt from certain provisions of the Food Security Act of 1985, they must comply with its Adjusted Gross Income provisions. AMA notably offers higher cost-share rates for historically underserved producers.
