Since 1951, it has partnered with nonprofits to enhance their impact, with a recent focus on transforming the regional food system for a more self-reliant area. It seeks systemic change, involving a diverse group of partners to address local concerns. The Foundation is committed to fostering organizational growth, nonprofit resilience, equitable solutions to problems, and empowering those working towards a thriving, equitable food system.
iCAP Core is an intensive coaching program focused on the importance of building a strong relationship between the Executive Director and Board Chair, resulting in a greater appreciation of the power of this relationship when developed through best practices. iCAP Core is an intensive coaching program focused on the importance of building a strong relationship between the Executive Director and Board Chair, resulting in a greater appreciation of the power of this relationship when developed through best practices. In addition, the program includes intensive board education and development that will enhance the board’s understanding of their roles and responsibility, particularly related to securing the necessary resources toward mission accomplishment. Organizations applying for the program must be a food system organization with at least 90% of its work focused on food systems efforts, an arts and culture organization, or a rural organization.
