Overview

The grant program supports a wide range of causes aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Westchester residents. Key areas of focus include:

  • Human Justice: Funding for programs that enhance access to civil legal services, protecting civil liberties and human rights.
  • Human Services: Support for programs addressing basic needs and promoting long-term economic stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Workforce Development: Grants for programs offering job training and employment opportunities, with a preference for those leading to certification and including job placement services.
  • Youth Development: Funding for programs that empower youth up to age 24, focusing on developing resilience, practical skills, and providing positive, enriching experiences. This includes innovative strategies to reduce youth interaction with the juvenile or criminal justice systems.
  • Arts: Support for programs that increase access to the arts and provide career development opportunities for economically disadvantaged artists as well as initiatives that celebrate Germanic culture.
  • Social Justice: Funding for community-based efforts aimed at policy reforms to address social injustice, ensuring those affected by injustice are involved in policy-making.
  • Technical Assistance: The Foundation also supports the capacity-building of nonprofits in Westchester through workshops, convenings, and programs designed to strengthen the sector, while not funding technical assistance for single organizations.
