The Community Foundation aims to improve community well-being by providing grants that enhance a wide array of local programs. Through its competitive granting process, it supports various initiatives focusing on early childhood development, the safety of vulnerable children, and general community enhancement across arts, education, environment, health, human services, and youth development.
The grant program operates with a guiding principle to support and enhance the quality of various initiatives that directly benefit the community. It is structured around specific funds with targeted causes such as the Early Childhood Development Fund, which focuses on improving childcare and early learning programs; the Safe Child Fund, aimed at supporting children who are vulnerable due to abuse, disability, or illness; and the Wyatt Memorial Fund, which supports named nonprofits in their community endeavors. Additionally, the Community Grantmaking Fund and Kenneth A. Boseker Memorial Fund cater to a broad range of community needs from arts and culture to health and human services, including the provision for general operating expenses of organizations addressing local charitable needs.
