The Weinberg Foundation aims to assist those in greatest need through grants focused on Housing, Health, Jobs, or Education, supporting a wide range of populations and geographic areas. It particularly supports large community organizations with multiple programs that address a variety of needs, aiming to create sustainable improvements in conditions for vulnerable groups.
The Foundation's Leadership Grants program is designed to address the significant lack of racial diversity in the nonprofit sector’s leadership and the disparity in financial support for organizations led by people of color. Recognizing the need for nonprofit leadership to mirror the diversity and experiences of the communities they serve, the program supports the professional development of leaders of color within grantee organizations. Offering grants of up to $20,000, the initiative seeks to honor and invest in these leaders, while broadening the pool of candidates for executive leadership roles within the nonprofit sector. Importantly, when a Leadership Grant is awarded, the funds are directed to the organization itself, rather than any individual or entity facilitating professional development.
