Long Foundation Grant

The Long Foundation aims to reduce the high school dropout rate among Texas Hispanic students and provide opportunities for these youths to enhance their economic and social potential and that of their communities. The Foundation focuses on supporting programs that fulfill at least one of the Five Promises of America's Promise, benefiting youths, particularly those in areas with large Hispanic populations.

Type of Support

Overview

The Long Foundation Grant program has a broad goal of supporting Texas Hispanic youths by funding non-profit organizations, schools, universities, and governmental or quasi-governmental programs that address high school dropout rates and the enhancement of economic and social potential. The grant supports initiatives that are specifically targeting large Hispanic populations and focus on engaging caring adults, providing safe places with structured activities, ensuring a healthy start, imparting marketable skills through education, and offering opportunities for community service. While primarily focused on Hispanic youths, the grants are designed to potentially benefit a broader audience participating in these programs, with a stipulation that at least 75% of the targeted youth population must be Hispanic.
