The mission of the funder is to support economic opportunities for older adults and the organizations that serve them, focusing on system-level and programmatic innovations across three priority areas: ending ageism, advancing digital equity, and supporting aging in place. They aim to advance equity for marginalized or geographically underserved communities through funding a wide range of initiatives, including research, startups, pilot projects, and direct services.
The Changing Aging (CA) Grant program has broad goals of supporting economic opportunities for both older adults and the organizations that serve them. This is achieved by advocating for systemic and programmatic innovations in three key areas: ending ageism, promoting digital equity, and facilitating aging in place. The grant emphasizes the need for innovative approaches that address inequities faced by marginalized or underserved communities. Projects of interest for the program include, but are not limited to, initiatives that reduce age-related stereotypes through intergenerational programming, enhance digital accessibility for isolated older adult communities, and provide financial coaching for low-income older adults to help them age in place more comfortably. Although there is flexibility in the types of projects considered for funding, all proposed projects must incorporate an innovative component and must aim to advance equity. There’s no fixed maximum request amount for funding, but those intending to request $250,000 or more must consult with a program officer. Indirect costs are allowable but must not exceed 20% of the total grant amount.
