    Type of Support

    Overview

The Ocotillo Wind Tribal Mitigation Program was initiated by Ocotillo Express LLC to address the cultural and environmental impact of the Ocotillo Wind Project on local Native American Tribes in Imperial County, CA. Administered by the Imperial Valley Community Foundation, the program supports the cultural preservation and enhancement of federally recognized local tribes. It provides grants through specifically established funds aimed at supporting culturally significant activities such as Tribal Monitor and Conservation Training, Tribal Annual Gatherings, College Scholarships, Linguistics Programs, Outreach Programs, and Ethnography Studies. Funds are allocated to five tribes, each with its own tailored fund to support activities that preserve and strengthen their culture, history, and traditions.
