The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy aims to implement ecosystem restoration in the Delta and Suisun Marsh, advancing environmental protection and the economic well-being of Delta residents. It focuses on collaborative, community-oriented efforts to protect, enhance, and restore the Delta’s economy, agriculture, working landscapes, and environment for the benefit of the region, its communities, and all Californians.
The Climate, Access, and Resource (CAR) funding program, powered by the Budget Acts of 2021 and 2022, is designed to support projects that foster climate resilience, community access, and natural resource protection in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Suisun Marsh. With a focus on multi-benefit projects, the program aims to promote access to outdoor spaces, enhance climate resilience, ensure food and water security, protect natural resources, and support biodiversity. Additionally, the CAR program prioritizes projects that increase equity, enhance public health, and create economic opportunities. Example projects include the development or enhancement of parks, open spaces, nature areas, cultural amenities, and efforts geared towards climate resilience and natural resource protection.
