We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) by NRCS is designed to support the integration of conservation practices by farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners into their working lands. The EQIP program provides financial and technical assistance for the implementation of these practices and activities that address specific natural resource concerns. The program is characterized by its broad goals of enhancing environmental quality and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Specific categories prioritized by the 2018 Farm Bill for financial assistance through EQIP include Livestock, Source Water Protection, Wildlife, Socially Disadvantaged Farmers or Ranchers, and Beginning Farmers or Ranchers. Additionally, EQIP supports the development of Conservation Activity Plans (CAP) for producers to address specific natural resource needs such as transitioning to organic operations, grazing land management, forest land conservation, nutrient management, and air quality concerns.
