Letters of Intent and Grant Applications should be Submitted Online at http://www.amgen.com/citizenship/apply_for_grant.htmlNearly all Amgen Foundation grants are made by invitation.Within the United States and Puerto Rico, the Foundation will, however, respectfully contemplate a small number of unsolicited requests for local programs whose work is fully aligned to our strategy to strengthen Science Education in the communities where Amgen has a presence. Unsolicited requests are only reviewed on a semiannual basis, in March and September.Organizations that choose to submit an "Unsolicited Letter of Inquiry" must first complete an eligibility quiz before submitting their request. On successful completion, these organizations may only submit one request per year for funding.For organizations chartered outside of the United States, following the Foundation's invitation to submit a proposal, the Amgen Foundation works with qualified intermediary partners to manage international donations.

Restrictions
The Amgen Foundation will not consider requests for:- Support to individuals- Fundraising or sports-related events- Corporate sponsorship requests- Religious organizations unless the gift is designated to a program that is secular in nature and benefits a broad range of the community (e.g. soup kitchens and homeless shelters). Additionally, the program must have a formal mission and separate budget and staff.- Political organizations or lobbying activity- Labor unions- Private foundations- Organizations not described in Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1), (2), (3) of the Internal Revenue Code- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or disability statuses in the delivery of services and in their employment practices.
