The mission of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Kansas City is to promote tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world) by being an advocate for planned giving and a resource for personalized charitable funds for the community.
The Community Legacy Fund awards grants to programs and agencies that contribute to the vibrancy and sustainability of the Jewish community in the Greater Kansas City area. It focuses on providing Core support as well as funding for Innovative/Emergency programs. The grant program underscores the importance of safety net services, Jewish education, community relations, cultural arts, seed programs that meet identified needs, equipment that enhances organization operations, and essential programs to the region’s Jewish life. Applications for Innovative/Emergency grants are due April 3, while Core grant applications are due June 15.
