Kalliopeia's mission is dedicated to leaders and projects that model cultural and ecological renewal rooted in a reverent connection to the Earth. They focus on supporting spiritual commitments alongside the outer measures of work, fostering an ethic of service, building trust and respect through relationships, and valuing diverse cultural and spiritual expressions of Earth connection. They aim for a future where diverse communities thrive in sovereignty while contributing to ecological resilience.
The grants program at Kalliopeia is aimed at individuals and projects that embody cultural and ecological renewal with a deep respect for the Earth. There are two main areas of focus: Land Care and Indigenous Leadership. For Land Care, Kalliopeia supports projects that facilitate regenerative land care approaches, especially those led by communities historically dispossessed or excluded from land ownership, with a special emphasis on intergenerational projects and women as carriers of Earth-based wisdom. Under Indigenous Leadership, they form partnerships with Indigenous leaders who maintain a relationship with Mother Earth, serve as knowledge keepers, and steward their traditional lands and waters. The program prioritizes organizations that uphold Indigenous values and support women leaders fostering community healing and nurturing future leadership.
