Overview

The ARC provides funding for a variety of projects in the Appalachian Region, focusing on promoting economic opportunities, preparing a ready workforce, developing critical infrastructure, preserving natural and cultural assets, and enhancing leadership and community capacity. Priority is given to projects that promote new business startups, job creation, and sustainable economic and social development. ARC funds, supplemented by additional federal, state, and local resources, support small business assistance and target five strategic goals to improve Pennsylvania’s economy and the broader Appalachian area.
