Type of Support

Overview

This program aims to support the development and maintenance of clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage for households and businesses in eligible rural areas. The grants can be utilized for a wide array of purposes including but not limited to the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water sourcing, treatment, storage, and distribution systems; sewer collection, transmission, treatment, and disposal systems; solid waste collection, disposal, and closure processes; and storm water collection, transmission, and disposal efforts. Additionally, the program may cover related activities such as legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, water and land rights, permits and equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest incurred during construction, purchase of facilities to improve service or prevent loss of service, and other costs deemed necessary for project completion.
