Type of Support

Overview

The Wastewater Planning Funding aims to support small disadvantaged communities (DAC) by offering low-interest loans, grants, and principal forgiveness for planning/design and construction of projects focused on restoring and maintaining water quality. The Small Community Clean Water/Wastewater (SCWW) Funding Program is designed for communities with populations less than 20,000. DACs are communities with a median household income (MHI) less than 80% of the statewide average, and severely disadvantaged communities (SDAC) have an MHI less than 60% of the statewide average. The program offers financial assistance using federal and state funds for projects such as wastewater treatment plants, sewer collectors and interceptors, combined sewers, septic to sewer conversions, regionalization, landfill leachate treatment, storm water reduction and treatment, and water reclamation facilities.
