The Dyson Foundation is dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations in the Mid-Hudson Valley region that focus on meeting basic human needs such as housing, family stability, youth development, healthcare access, food security, and other essential human services. It places particular emphasis on aiding those who are economically disadvantaged or marginalized.
The Mid-Hudson Valley Grantmaking Program focuses on fulfilling specific community needs in the Mid-Hudson Valley, including Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster counties. It provides Designated Grants for activities that align with priority areas within organizations of a broader mission. These areas include youth after-school and summer programs, economic development with a charitable purpose and public benefit, and, occasionally, arts councils/organizations that significantly contribute to job creation and local economic improvement.
